Pigmentation

Pigmentation

Hyperpigmentation comes in various forms, with melasma, sunspots, and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation being prevalent types.

Melasma, often linked to hormonal changes, tends to develop on various body parts, with the stomach and face being common areas of occurrence.

Sunspots, also known as liver spots or solar lentigines, are frequently associated with prolonged sun exposure. Typically appearing on sun-exposed areas such as the hands and face, they are a common manifestation.

Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, stemming from skin injury or inflammation, is often seen in conditions like acne. It presents as darkened areas and can be discussed and addressed during a consultation with our Skin Health Practitioners.
